Training for Youth & Adults in the Art of Hosting Conversations that Matter
*Do you want to become part of The New Mentality Network?
*Do you want to break the silence about mental illness, bullying, and suicide?
*Are you a youth (13–24) who wants to make a difference?
*Are you an adult that wants to engage youth in mental health?
Disable the Label 2013 will teach youth and adults the skills needed to work together to make a difference together.
BACKGROUND
The New Mentality is a program of Children’s Mental Health Ontario, with local groups across the province. The New Mentality promotes meaningful engagement by empowering youth to concentrate on the work they are most passionate about, to foster their voice without feeling tokenized, and to influence change within the mental health system and beyond.
At Disable the Label, we train youth to facilitate groups and create projects that decrease stigma. We teach adults and youth how to engage youth to have youth voice within the mental health system. We train youth to use their stories of illness and recovery to make a difference. We connect you to a community of people who are doing the same things.
This event is not for spectators. It will connect you to people through conversations that matter and ask you to think deeply about the difference you want to make in your community.
